2010/2011 Season Test Match

With tropical cyclone Bianca looming, the Test Match held on Saturday January 29th 2011, pressed on with the Aussies winning the toss.

"Come in spinner" cried Lindsay Ernshaw - Aussie captain - with a confidence only found in Kalgoorlie 2-up rings when you know someone has a 2 sided coin.

Sent in to bat the ROWS posted a score of 214. Immediately after lunch the heavens opened causing many breaks in play and making the ball a little slippery, however it was suggested that the white ball held up better than the red one would have!

Still smarting from their loss 2 seasons ago, the Aussies notched up a win this year. The ROWS posted a target of 214 with Ali Clarke captaining the side and having a captains knock of 62 runs including 5 consecutive sixes. He also picked up the Cavallaro Medal.

Ali my son we should change your surname to Cavallaro....

The Aussies replied by reaching the target for the loss of only 2 wickets and and with 7 overs to spare. Mark Lucas in his debut test opened the batting and was still at the crease when the match was won scoring a "beautiful to watch" century.

Billy, can't you see I don't have a drink - where are your manners says Yvette? "Ouch" cries Geoff Lovelock in stunned amazement!

"Class dismissed" says Mark Lucas. "Now I know you chose not to play this year Craig, however I would have seen out your bowling too. Off you go...."
